Footage Forever stores copies of the video clips your Ring cameras record so that they are not lost when Ring's own storage window ends. That means we hold your camera footage. This page says exactly what we keep, why, for how long, and how to delete it. We don't sell your data, run ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

What Footage Forever is

Footage Forever is a third-party app that connects to your Ring account through Ring's official integration platform (the Ring Appstore). When you install it and choose cameras, our service copies each event clip Ring records for those cameras into long-term storage that we operate, and lets you browse and play those clips at footageforever.com.

What we collect and store

What we do not collect

How we use it

Solely to copy your recordings into the archive, keep you signed in, refresh your Ring authorization so you don't have to reconnect, show you your clips, and operate and secure the service. We do not view your footage except when you ask us to investigate a problem with your account, and then only what is needed. Only the two people who operate the service can do so, and every such access is logged.

Where it lives and who can see it

How long we keep it

If you have an active subscription, cancel it in the Ring app. Billing is handled by Ring, so deleting your account here does not stop a subscription on its own.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. Clips are encrypted at rest with a dedicated key. Ring tokens are additionally encrypted before they reach our database. The parts of our service that answer web requests have no ability to delete archived footage; deletion runs only in a separate, scheduled process. Access to production systems is limited to the people who operate the service.

Your rights

You can access every clip we hold at any time in the app, download any clip, turn archiving on or off per camera, and delete your account and all data yourself. You may also ask us to provide a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it through the support form (choose "Privacy or data request") or by emailing support@footageforever.com; we verify the request against the email on your Ring account and answer within 30 days. If you are in a jurisdiction with a data protection authority, you have the right to lodge a complaint with it.

Children

Footage Forever is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Camera footage may incidentally include people of any age; you are responsible for using cameras lawfully.

Changes

We will update the date at the top when this policy changes, and note material changes in the app.
